This is the latest batch of handcrafted Hermès Garden Party 30 canvas bags from the Shebag workshop. They are exquisitely made. The hardware of our bags is generally made from brass or pure steel, with the surface treated using precious-metal plating. The most common materials are gold, palladium, and rhodium. Among these, the factor that influences cost the most is not the choice of metal, but the thickness of the plating.

• Thin plating (0.1–0.3 μm): Often used for fashion jewelry, it looks good initially but wears off and fades quickly.

• Medium plating (0.5–1 μm): The standard used by luxury brands, able to retain shine and resist oxidation for several years.

• Thick plating (>1 μm): Applied in high-end or special editions, extremely durable but with significantly higher cost.

For this reason, while authentic luxury bags typically use thin to medium plating, Shebag consistently opts for medium and thick layers. In particular, all Hermès hardware must be plated with thick palladium or rhodium. For Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and other designer bags, Shebag also applies medium-thickness plating, which makes the precious-metal coating cost considerably higher.
